(His)story…
Josh Diosomito (He/Him) is a federally-trained and certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) facilitator and strategist. He has 20 years’ experience with both the U.S. government and other entities, specializing in enhancing awareness of DE&I issues—implicit bias, emotional intelligence, and workplace civility, among others. As a Public Policy & International Affairs Fellow (University of California, Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy), Josh has dedicated his career to promoting the inclusion of underrepresented groups in marginalized spaces.
Josh has partnered with federal, state, and local agencies, non-profits, and universities across the country as a DE&I facilitator and speaker—including U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Government Accountability Office, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Partnership for Public Service, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Southern California, among others.
In 2019, Josh was the featured cover story in a national diversity magazine—Equal Opportunity Publications—highlighting the intersectionality of DE&I issues and civic leadership in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. He also leverages over 15 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager leading federal oversight of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security—specifically aviation, border, and maritime security operations.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, he learned about social justice issues and cultural understanding at an early age. Josh cultivated these passions and earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology (Ethnic Studies emphasis) from the University of California, Berkeley (cum laude) and dual master’s degree in Public Administration and International Relations from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs.
Josh is a devoted husband and father, active faith leader, marathon runner, and weekend golfer.
